Starting things off was Washington vs. Minnesota with Minnesota’s dream season coming to an end losing 5-3, while Washington moves on to play Oklahoma State in a night elimination game.
In a rematch of this year’s SEC Tournament championship game it was Alabama vs. Florida playing to see who would be eliminated from the 2019 WCWS. Unlike that game though this time around Alabama put a beat down on starting Florida ace pitcher Kelly Barnhill and the Gators winning the game by a score of 15-3 in a 5-inning run rule game. Alabama was a team on a mission in the game scoring six runs in the first inning and never looked back. Sarah Cornell got the win in the circle for Alabama. The 12-run margin of victory is the third-largest in Women’s College World Series history, the largest since Arizona defeated Fresno State, 12-0, in 1989.
Oklahoma State vs. Washington the Huskies Taran Alvelo came to play striking out 16 Cowgirls in Washington’s 1-0 win over Oklahoma State. Samantha Show took the tough loss in the circle for Oklahoma State.
Arizona vs. Alabama the Crimson Tide continues their, ‘Roll Tide Roll,’ year with a stellar pitching performance from freshman pitcher Montana Fouts who kept Arizona’s bats at bay late Saturday night picking up the 3-hits shutout 2-0 win.
